Very Rare Glazed Redware Pitcher, Stamped "V. RUDOLPH," Shippensburg, PA origin, circa 1868-1888, flared tankard form with elaborate raised banding, the midsection decorated with highly unusual greenish-slip foliate devices over a mottled olive and orange ground. Clear lead-glazed surface. Underside impressed with Valentine Rudolph maker's mark. Base chips. Wear to rim, spout, handle, and banding. Tight cracks to underside extending onto base. Glaze loss to interior base. H 5".
