One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Impressed and Coggled Decoration, Stamped "T.W.J.L," Thomas Warne and Joshua Letts, South Amboy, NJ, early 19th century, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, the shoulder decorated with two bands of coggled column-and-sawtooth designs above impressed drape motifs. Brown slip highlights to maker's mark, impressed drapery, and handle terminals. Desirable, early NJ maker's mark and exceptional condition. Excellent condition with a faint horizontal line through handle and some typical in-the-firing surface flaws, including two minor, in-the-firing contact marks to spout. H 11 1/2".
