Ten Stoneware Bottles, primarily American, 19th century, one with Bristol glaze, inscribed "Post" and "x" in cobalt; one with cobalt-highlighted spout and an unusual brown-slip "B" on two sides, stamped "R. SWINLEY & CO. / PATERSON N;" one with cobalt "B" on two sides, impressed with the cobalt-highlighted mark, "P PFANNENBECKER," below a "P" within a diamond; one stamped "ALEX FEYH," Hoboken, NJ origin; one stamped "J. FITZSIMONS," Newark, NJ origin; one stamped "W P KNICKERBOCKER;" one stamped "HF CLARK;" one with cobalt stripe decoration on two sides, stamped "J.A. LOMAX, / 14, 16 & 18 / CHARLES PLACE / CHICAGO" and "THIS BOTTLE MUST BE RETURNED" with tradmark insignia at center; a porter-style bottle with handle, stamped "JOHN ROESSLE'S / BAVARIAN ALE / BOSTON," possibly English; and an ink bottle, stamped "DAVID'S / NEW YORK" and "J. BOURNE & SON, / PATENTED / DENBY POTTERIES / NEAR DERBY," English origin. Swinley bottle in very nice condition with a thin 1 7/8" crack to base, a small base chip, and some staining. Pfannebecker bottle in excellent condition with minor chipping to spout. Post bottle with three chips to bottom edge spout. Ink bottle with minor chipping to base. Chicago bottle in excellent condition. All others with chips and/or staining. H (of tallest) 11 1/4".
