Four Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, American, 19th century, a two-gallon advertising jug with slip-trailed floral decoration, stamped "HT PARKER & CO / 9. CENTRAL.WHARF / BOSTON MASS," circa 1875; a four-gallon jar with slip-trailed foliate decoration, stamped "HAXSTUN OTTMAN & CO., / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1875; a two-gallon jug with brushed foliate decoration, stamped "O.L. & A.K. BALLARD / BURLINGTON, VT," circa 1870; and a three-gallon jar with two-sided brushed floral decoration, attributed to A. Keister & Co., Strasburg, VA, circa 1850. Boston jug with painted restoration to an in-the-firing contact mark on front, green paint to a flake at base, a salt drip to reverse, a 4 3/4" line to shoulder, a 1" in-the-firing chip to spout, and a surface line to underside of handle. Fort Edward jar with significant restored cracks. Ballard jug with painted restoration to top of handle, painted restoration to a 5 1/2" crack at base on reverse, and a thin, unrestored X-shaped crack on underside. Keister jar with significant restoration, touching some of cobalt. H (of tallest) 14".
