Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Pitchers, MA origin, second half 19th century, a two-gallon ovoid pitcher with elaborate slip-trailed decoration, stamped "SOMERSET / POTTERS WORKS," L. & B.G. Chace, Somerset, MA, third quarter 19th century; paired with a one-gallon pitcher with slip-trailed stylized floral motif, probably F.B. Norton, Worcester, MA, circa 1870. Somerset pitcher with a thin 3 3/4" crack on underside, extending 7" up left side of pitcher's front, a large in-the-firing surface chip to right side of pitcher's front, a few in-the-firing contact marks, in-the-firing chipping to Albany slip glaze on interior of rim, and a green marker code on underside. Other pitcher in very nice condition with a 3 3/4" hairline on underside, continuing 1 1/4" up front of pitcher, as well as some light staining. H (of taller) 11 3/4".
