Two Iron-Decorated Stoneware Jars with Coggled Motifs, NJ origin, early 19th century, measuring two and four gallons, both of ovoid form with applied lug handles and coggled column decoration around shoulder. Brushed iron-slip highlights to handle terminals. Smaller jar with base chips, an X-shaped hairline at base, and various firing flaws to surface, including a large surface chip. Larger jar with five holes drilled in underside, base chips, rim chips, exfoliation to rim and one handle, and some small flakes to body. H (of taller) 15".
