Two Northeastern U.S. Stoneware Jugs, fourth quarter 19th century, a two-gallon jug with slip-trailed cobalt leaf decoration, stamped "F.B. NORTON SONS. / WORCESTER MASS," paired with a one-gallon jug with impressed and cobalt-highlighted swan, attributed to the Gardiner Stoneware Manufactory, Gardiner, ME. Norton jug with spout chips, some light staining, some fry to cobalt, and a 1 1/8" in-the-firing chip to underside. Gardiner jug in excellent, essentially as-made condition. H (of Norton jug) 13 1/2".
