Two Glazed Pottery Canning Jars, John Bell, Waynesboro, PA, circa 1840-1880, a cylindrical stoneware jar with streaky, light-gray alkaline glaze, stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO'," paired with a redware jar with clear lead glaze over a yellow clay ground, stamped "JOHN BELL." Provenance: Property deaccessioned by the Miller House Museum, Hagerstown, MD. Shorter with a 3" inverted fork-shaped hairline from rim and a 2 1/2" curving hairline from rim. Taller with some staining, a 5/8" rim chip and minor chip, as well as wear to interior of rim and two chips to inner rim for lid. H (of shorter) 5 7/8".
