Two Glazed Redware Jars, Bell Pottery, Waynesboro, PA, 19th century, both of similar ovoid form with lead-glazed surfaces, the taller stamped on underside, "JOHN BELL," circa 1840-1880, the shorter stamped "JOHN W. BELL / WAYNESBORO, Pa.," circa 1880-1890. Provenance: Property deaccessioned by the Miller House Museum, Hagerstown, MD. Taller jar with a faint 2 1/2" hairline from rim and some grease staining. Shorter jar with a curving crack extending from rim towards midsection. H (of taller) 5 1/2".
