Glazed Redware Flowerpot, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO'," PA origin, circa 1850-1880, tapered flowerpot with rounded rim and attached saucer, the surface dipped in a streaky, cream-colored slip, decorated with sponged manganese, and covered in a clear lead glaze. Underside impressed with John Bell maker's mark. Attractive glaze. Provenance: Property deaccessioned by the Miller House Museum, Hagerstown, MD. A 1 1/4" rim chip. Glaze flakes to rim. Two cracks from rim, measuring 2 1/4" and 2". A 7/8" chip to rim of saucer and a minor base chip. Residue from use to base of flowerpot and rim of saucer. H 5".
