Shenandoah Valley Multi-Glazed Redware Wall Pocket, attributed to J. Eberly & Co., Strasburg, VA, circa 1890, wheel-thrown form with pedestal base, flattened reverse side, applied scrolled hanger, and coggled rim, the front decorated with a hand-modeled and applied bird and floral motifs. Surface decorated with streaks of copper and manganese over cream-colored slip and covered in a clear lead glaze. Handle broken into three pieces and reglued, with crude restoration along breaks. Typical restored beak to bird. A minor flake to rim. Minor wear to bird's eyes and base of wall pocket. Black marker initials, "CR.," on underside. H 7".
