Two Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Churns, attributed to Lanier Meaders, Cleveland, GA, circa 1875, both of semi-ovoid form with applied strap and lug handles, a four-gallon example with uniform green glaze, incised "4" under one handle, and a three-gallon example with streaked darker glaze, incised "3" under one handle. Provenance: Collection of Dr. John A. Burrison, Atlanta, GA; on loan to the Atlanta History Center, Atlanta, GA since 1981. Both in excellent, essentially as-made condition. H (of taller churn) 17".
