Large-Sized Tanware Pitcher, Greensboro or New Geneva, PA origin, circa 1885, ovoid pitcher with tall, flaring collar, decorated across the body in Albany slip with a sweeping fuchsia vine design. Collar decorated with wavy stripes flanked by dashes along the spout. Freehand stripes to rim, base of collar, and base of pitcher. Heavy freehand dash decoration to handle. Albany slip highlights to handle terminals. Very nice condition with a shallow chip to interior of rim along outer edge of spout. Some painted brown touch-up to this chip, as well as some brown paint to interior of spout and along right side of interior of rim, which appears to be covering only some minor edge wear. H 9 3/4".
