Fine Six-Gallon Stoneware Water Cooler with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to David Parr, Sr., Baltimore, MD, circa 1825, cylindrical form with tooled shoulder, squared rim, applied lug handles, and large tubular bunghole; decorated around the midsection with a circumferential vine bearing graduated leaves and flowers. Additional swag and hanging flower motif on front and reverse. Cobalt-highlighted bunghole. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Impressed six on front. A rim chip on front and reverse. A restored crack from rim descending 11" on right side of cooler's front. Partially restored cracks on interior. Thin cracks to shoulder, right handle, base area, and underside. A large Y-shaped crack in underside. A thin 2" crack from rim on reverse. H 16".
