Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled accents to body and collar, decorated around the midsection with a series of four horizontal leaves. Cobalt swag decoration to collar and spout. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Provenance: From a recently-surfaced collection. A 2" crack from rim on side of pitcher. A 1 1/8" chip to interior of rim near spout. A 2" hairline from rim to left of spout. A faint horizontal line to underside of handle at midsection. H 8 3/4".
