Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Presentation Bank with Bird Finial, Inscribed "Parnude Dennis," attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1885, ovoid form with footed base, carved coin slot, and bird-form finial, the front featuring the incised and cobalt-highlighted inscription, "Parnude Dennis." Brushed foliate decoration emanating from the base and flanking the coin slot. Horizontal floral decoration to reverse. Vast majority of bird finial is restored. Post of finial reglued to top of bank. A salt drip to front. A small in-the-firing contact mark to left side of bank near base. Light exfoliation to underside. H 8 1/2".
