Extremely Rare Four-Gallon Stoneware Double-Spouted Water Cooler with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "T. CRAFTS & CO / WHATELY," MA origin, circa 1833-1848, ovoid form with pedestal base, applied lug handles, and a circular bunghole applied at the base on the front and reverse. Shoulder decorated completely around with an incised sine wave motif. Front decorated with a brushed design of six flowers conjoined at the stem. Cobalt highlights to bungholes, handle terminals, maker's mark, and capacity mark. Exceptional form. An approximately 4" x 1 3/4" professionally restored section to pedestal base. Otherwise excellent condition with small traces of old gold and green paint to surface, unrelated to any sort of restoration. H 17 3/4".
