Outstanding Ornamental Stoneware Flowerpot, attributed to R.S. Baird, Mogadore, OH origin, mid 19th century, wheel-thrown flowerpot with attached saucer, two smaller flowerpots applied to the sides, and ropetwist handles with ram's horn terminals. Rim embellished with sawtoothed carving and pierced work above a crimped molding. Additional sawtoothed and crimped details to the smaller flowerpots. Base of flowerpot with crimping above a scallop-carved saucer. Albany-slip-glazed surface. This extravagant, sculptural work is firmly attributed to Baird based on a closely-related signed example. A 1 /4" hole drilled in underside, leading to a larger flake on interior base. A loss to end of one of the ram's horn handles. Very minor chips. H 7 1/8" ; Diam. (at widest) 7 1/4".
