Two-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar, Upstate South Carolina origin, possibly Rich Williams, Gowensville area, Greenville County, SC, late 19th century, ovoid jar with rounded rim and large lug handles, the surface covered in a light-olive alkaline glaze. Incised "2" on underside. Provenance: A South Carolina private collection. A broken and reglued section to shoulder with cracks emanating from it. A 4" tight spider line to reverse. A small rim chip. A 2" chip to one handle. H 13 1/2".
