Two Glazed Redware Jars with Lids, probably New York State origin, third quarter 19th century, an ovoid jar with footed base, tooled shoulder, and flared rim, the surface covered in a lead glaze over a mottled orange and dark-olive ground with appealing glaze crawling throughout. Includes a fitting glazed redware lid of Northeastern U.S. origin. Paired with a cylindrical, lead-glazed jar featuring light-mustard-colored streaks over a rust-colored ground. Includes recessed lid with similar glazing, loosely fitting, but likely original. Ovoid jar with two chips to base, other light wear to base, minor surface wear to midsection, a hairline to rim, and light wear to rim and interior of rim. Lid with minor wear. Cylindrical jar in excellent condition with a 1 1/2" in-the-firing contact mark to one side involving a shallow piece of smooth adhered clay, a minor glaze flake to shoulder, and some wear to interior of rim. Lid with significant flaking to underside, a flake to top of rim, and some small chips to rim and knob. H (of taller jar, excluding lid) 12 1/2".
