Glazed Redware Cream Pitcher, Strasburg, VA, probably S. Bell & Sons, circa 1890, squat-shaped, ovoid pitcher with footed base, tooled shoulder, and flared collar, the surface dipped in cream-colored slip, decorated with splashes of copper, and covered in a clear lead glaze. Desirable shape and dramatic use of copper. Wear and two chips to spout. Wear to rim. Two large base chips, a small base chip, and wear to base. Wear to handle and shoulder molding. Minor glaze wear to interior base. H 5 1/2".
