Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Stamped "R.C.R.," Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and squared rim, decorated around the shoulder with four foliate motifs. Base impressed with R.C.R. maker's mark. Interior of rim with a minor chip and short line, the latter likely in-the-firing. A small, smooth in-the-firing contact mark to shoulder. Rim is somewhat out-of-round. H 8 3/4".
