Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Coggled Designs, Old Bridge, NJ origin, probably Bissett Family, circa 1810's, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed flower on the front and reverse. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Shoulder and rim coggled with intricate oval and sawtoothed designs. A 1" hole in underside. In-the-firing crazing to surface. A thin 3 3/4" crack from rim. A 1 1/4" shallow in-the-firing chip to foot. An in-the-firing contact mark to shoulder. Two small in-the-firing chips to one handle. A small in-the-firing iron ping below same handle. A small rim chip. H 11 3/8".
