Two-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar, attributed to the Landrum-Stork Pottery, Columbia, SC, circa 1870, squat-shaped, ovoid jar with flared rim and arched tab handles, the surface covered in a glossy, light-olive alkaline glaze. Incised line accents around body of jar. Provenance: A South Carolina private collection. Rim chips. Heavy chipping to one handle. Shallow chipping and 1 1/4" line to opposite handle. A long horizontal surface line near base, not visible on interior and likely in-the-firing. A 3 1/2" vertical line from rim. A shallow chip and minor wear to inner rim for lid. H 12 1/2".
