Rare Lot of Seven Malachiteware and Rockinghamware Pieces, attributed to the Edwin Bennett Pottery, Baltimore, MD, circa 1860-1880, a graduated group of four molded pitchers with eagle-head spouts and relief geometric decoration; together with a lidded teapot, the lid embossed "HE-NO POT NO 1." All covered in a green glaze with lighter flecking throughout. Pieces glazed in this manner were termed "malachiteware" by the Bennett Pottery. Few examples have survived. Included with this lot are two brown-glazed eagle-spouted pitchers. Loss to clay prongs on underside of teapot's lid. Teapot with minor chips and wear to interior of rim and two spout chips. Largest with a faint surface line to underside. Second largest with hairlines from rim and hairlines to underside. One smaller pitcher with surface lines to interior. Other smaller pitcher in excellent condition. Two brown-glazed pitchers in excellent condition. H (of tallest) 8 3/8".
