Fine Shenandoah Valley Multi-Glazed Redware Tankard Pitcher, attributed to S. Bell & Sons, Strasburg, VA, circa 1890, cylindrical form with footed base, tooled shoulder, and short, flaring collar, the surface decorated with yellowish slip and splashes of copper and manganese under a clear lead glaze. Excellent condition with a shallow 7/8" chip to side of rim and other minor rim and spout nicks. The surface of this pitcher survives in exceptional, "like-new" condition, retaining a brilliant luster. H 8 7/8".
