Two Pieces of Virginia Stoneware, circa 1865, a canning jar with "wax sealer" rim, stamped "SDS," attributed to S.C. Milburn, Alexandria, Virginia; paired with a three-gallon cylindrical jar with cobalt tulip decoration, attributed to David Parr, Jr., Richmond, Virginia. Canning jar with chips to interior of rim and tiny nicks to base. Cobalt-decorated jar with a small rim chip, heavy chipping to one handle, and wear to surface and edges. H (of canning jar) 7 3/4".
