Three Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, VA origin, second half 19th century, a one-gallon ovoid jar with foliate decoration, attributed to Stephen B. Sweeney, Henrico County, VA; a one-gallon cylindrical jar with swag decoration, stamped "S. BELL & SON. / STRASBURG"; and a half-gallon or three-quart jar with swag decoration, attributed to David Parr, Jr., Richmond, VA. Sweeney jar with craze lines to base area, light surface wear, and a 1 1/2" rim chip. S. Bell & Sons jar with a few rim chips, wear to surface, and staining to surface. Parr jar in excellent condition with a small piece of clay adhered to base.
