Fine Stoneware Pedestal-Based Water Cooler with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to J. McKenzie, Beaver, PA, circa 1860, approximately three-to-four gallon, ovoid form with applied pedestal base, lug handles, tooled accents, and rectangular bunghole at base; decorated with a large, undulating fuchsia vine design across the front. Cobalt highlights to bunghole and handle terminals. Includes a cobalt-decorated lid attributed to R.J. Grier, Chester County, PA. A highly-prized Western Pennsylvania stoneware form.
