Shenandoah Valley Glazed Redware Cream Pitcher, attributed to S. Bell & Sons or J. Eberly & Co., Strasburg, VA, circa 1890, ovoid pitcher with footed base and wide, flaring collar, the surface decorated with streaks of cream-colored slip and covered in a lead-and-manganese glaze. Unusual glaze treatment. Very nice condition. A Y-shaped hairline to base area on front. A 1" base chip on side pitcher. Minor rim wear. Light spout wear. Some small nicks to molding at base of collar. A small piece of adhered clay (in-the-firing contact mark) to handle and side of pitcher. H 6 1/4".
