Rare Small-Sized Glazed Redware Jar, New England origin, probably Maine, early to mid 19th century, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder, narrow mouth, and delicately-formed rim; surface covered in an oatmeal-colored, lead-based glaze, accented with iron flecks throughout. Exceptional size, possibly used as a snuff jar or ink bottle. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, from a recently-surfaced Northeastern U.S. collection assembled decades ago. Shallow chipping around rim. Small base chips. H 4".
