Slip-Decorated Redware Stew Pot, attributed to William Pecker, Merrimacport, MA, late 18th or early 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base, tooled shoulder, and applied ribbed handle, decorated with haphazard strokes of manganese slip over a light-green ground accented with pale-orange spots, all under a clear lead glaze. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, from a recently-surfaced Northeastern U.S. collection assembled decades ago. A rim chip and a few glaze flakes to interior of rim. Some exfoliation to base area. H 8".
