Three Pieces of Stoneware, Western PA origin, fourth quarter 19th century, a scarce two-gallon jar with stenciled and freehand decoration, stenciled "WILLIAMS & COUCH. / NEW GENEVA. / PA;" a two-gallon crock with stenciled rose motif, stenciled "2" with flourishes, and freehand stripes, stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES / GREENSBORO. PA.;" and a one-and-a-half-gallon jar with freehand decoration. Williams & Couch jar with cracked section to base, possibly reglued, a 7 1/2" hairline from rim on front, a 4" hairline from rim on reverse, and some traces of white paint to reverse. One-and-a-half-gallon jar with a 3 1/4" loss to side of rim, a small rim chip, salt drips to reverse, and a 5 1/4" crack from rim on front. Hamilton & Jones crock with long faint hairlines to reverse and underside as well as chips to handles and a number in black marker on underside.
