Six-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Inscribed "S.W.," Ohio origin, circa 1860, semi-ovoid churn with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a double-stemmed flowering plant along with the initials "SW" to the left. Slip-trailed "6" above. Cobalt highlight to impressed six-gallon capacity mark at shoulder. A chip to interior of rim. A 5" Y-shaped surface line to right side of churn's front, not visible on interior. A 4" diagonal line on reverse near base, not visible on interior.
