Six-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Stenciled Cobalt Eagle Decoration, Ohio origin, circa 1876, large-sized, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a stenciled design of an eagle holding a banner in its beak, inscribed "E. PLURIBUS UNUM". Stenciled above with a bold-faced stenciled "6" surrounded by geometric rays. A 2" x 1 1/4" flake to interior of rim. A minor chip to interior of rim. A 1 1/2" chipped area to left handle. A few short lines to base on reverse. Some paint to shoulder on reverse. H 14 3/8".
