Three Stoneware Jars, Western PA origin, circa 1875, a half-gallon butter crock, stenciled "JAMES HAMILTON & CO. / MANUFACTURERS. / GREENSBORO. PA"; a one-gallon jar with stenciled tulip emanating from a curving stem, underscored by a stripe; and a three-gallon jar with stenciled and freehand decoration, stenciled "JAMES HAMILTON & CO. / GREENSBORO. / PA.", with incised X on underside. Butter crock with a network of hairlines, extending onto base area, and a 4" hairline from rim. One-gallon jar with two thin lines from rim, measuring 3 3/4" and 1 3/4", as well as faint lines in underside, and some discoloration. " Three-gallon jar with large chips to right handle, a 5" crack from rim on front, a partially reglued 1 3/8" flake to rim on reverse, a few minor nicks to exterior of rim, small chips to interior of rim, a minor nick to inner rim for lid, and some in-the-firing chips to underside at edge.
