Five Pieces of Redware, New Jersey origin, 19th century, a rare lead-glazed batter pitcher with sponged manganese decoration, stamped on underside "EAST LAKE POTTERY / Bridgeton, N.J."; a rare lead glazed plate, stamped on underside in a large cartouche, "W.J. SMITH / BRIDGETON N.J. / GRAND MOTHER'S PIE DISH / FIRE PROOF"; a black-glazed pitcher with coggled decoration; a cylindrical black-glazed jug; and an unglazed flowerpot with coggled shoulder and crimped rim. Batter pitcher with a 2 1/2" loss to rim, and chips to rim, base, and spout. Plate in very nice condition with minor surface wear. Pitcher in very nice condition with a few minor rim and spout chips. Jug with heavy chips to base, wear to spout, chips and wear to handle, and some minor wear to shoulder, including some old family geneology written in ink on underside. Flowerpot in damaged condition with losses to rim, exfoliation to surface, and a short line from rim. H (of jug) 8 5/8".
