Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, PA origin, circa 1875, a five-gallon jar with stenciled eagle with banner, inscribed "Lion Pottery", Alexander Conrad, New Geneva, PA; paired with a four-gallon ovoid jar with stemmed foliate motif on the front and reverse, attributed to R.J. Grier, Chester County, PA. Lion Pottery jar with a large crack in front and large, inverted Y-shaped crack on reverse, which is crudely filled, as well as some staining. Other jar with sealed cracks emanating from the base and a small rim chip.
