One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Henry H. or Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1860, ovoid pitcher with footed base and combed incising to shoulder, decorated on the front with a two-stemmed tulip plant motif. Cobalt foliate motifs to collar and spout. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Restoration to base. Some restoration to base of collar, not affecting decoration. Restoration to an approximately 1 3/4" x 1 3/8" wedge at collar. Three short lines from rim and a 3" line from side of collar. Two short lines at base, connecting to a large circular line on underside.
