Two Miniature Glazed Redware Jugs, New England origin, early to mid 19th century, a finely-potted, ovoid jug with footed base, tooled shoulder, and narrow spout, the lead-glazed surface featuring olive coloration with red-and-orange circles; paired with a rotund jug with footed base, ribbed strap handle, and very short spout original to the object, the lead-glazed surface featuring mottled orange and olive coloration. Provenance: Narrower jug, Ex-Skinner, Personal Collection of Lewis Scranton, May 21, 2016. Narrower jug with two small flakes to edges of handle, two minuscule glaze nicks to handle, and some wear to spout. Other jug with some glaze spalling to body and base of handle, some handle wear along ribbing, a minor chip to interior of spout, and some light spout wear. H (of narrower jug) 3".
