Extremely Rare Rockingham-Glazed Presentation Ring Flask, Stamped "J. DARROW & SONS / Baldwinsville", NY State origin, circa 1875, wheel-thrown ring flask with applied oval base, tapered spout, and pierced attachments, the spout and attachments accented with coggling. Shoulder of jug decorated with the applied clay name, "W.L. HOWE," for William L. Howe, a local wagon maker. (See, for instance, the 1875 Baldwinsville city directory.) Impressed along one edge of the flask with the firm name,"J. DARROW & SONS", and along the opposite edge with the location of the pottery, "BALDWINSVILLE". Surface covered in a reddish-brown Rockingham glaze. Rare New York State mark and exceedingly rare form. Excellent condition with minor wear to applied name and some very minor wear to bottom edge of base. H 9 1/2".
