One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Henry H. or Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1860, ovoid pitcher with footed base, tooled collar, and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a two-stemmed flowering plant extending up the front, including a small swag motif at center. Collar decorated with large graduated swags. Large cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a 1" in-the-firing surface fissure near base on front and a minor chip to interior of rim, probably in-the-firing.
