Shenandoah Valley Multi-Glazed Redware Jar, attributed to to S. Bell & Sons, Strasburg, VA, circa 1890, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, the surface dipped in a cream-colored slip and decorated with a large, alternating pattern of a single daub of copper separated by two daubs of manganese, all under a clear lead glaze. Interior coated in a lead-and-manganese glaze. Smooth chips and wear to rim. Some restoration to exfoliation on body of jar.
