Scarce Shenandoah Valley Redware Lamb Doorstop, attributed to J. Eberly & Co., Strasburg, VA, circa 1890, molded figure of a reclining lamb with well-detailed coat, closed eyes, and light whitish slip coating to surface. This figure does not have significant wear to the slip, but was rather coated in a very light slip wash when made. The exterior also shows some traces of old white paint, a treatment found on a number of Eberly lamb doorstops. A 7/8" flake to one ear and two other smaller base flakes, all of which are covered in old white paint. A 7/8" chip to underside at edge. Otherwise excellent condition. L 12".
