Three Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Inkwells, NY State origin, first quarter 19th century, a four-holed example with footed base, dipped in iron-oxide and decorated with a cobalt band around the top; a four-holed example with cobalt highlight to top; and a three-holed example with light cobalt highlights to top. Footed example with restored base chip and a few short in-the-firing lines. Smaller four-holed example with small base chips and a small in-the-firing chip to hole at center. Three-holed example with a T-shaped line on underside, continuing up side of inkwell, as well as some small in-the-firing chips and in-the-firing residue to surface. H (of footed example) 1 1/2" ; Diameter (of footed example) 3 3/4".
