Five Bristol-Slip-Glazed Stoneware Advertising Jugs, American, circa 1900, a two-gallon jug, marked "W.H. DUNN & CO. / Wines & Liquors / Hagerstown, MD"; a bail-handled jug, stenciled "DOWN ON THE FARM / KETCHUP / C.W. RODEFER CO. / Shadyside, Ohio."; a three-gallon jug, marked "I BELONG TO / H.W. OBRIEN & CO. / 122 SENECA ST. / BUFFALO, - N.Y."; a one-gallon jug, stenciled "MYERS & COMPANY, / PURE / FULTON / WHISKEY / COVINGTON, KY."; and a two-and-a-half-gallon jug, marked "THOS. MAHER, JR., / WHOLESALE / Wines and Liquors, / SHAMOKIN, PA.". Hagerstown jug in very nice condition with some tiny chips to top of spout and a short horizontal crack along top edge of spout. Ohio jug with a small chip to underside at edge and some crazing to shoulder. Buffalo jug with spout chips. Shamokin jug with Y-shaped crack at base, continuing onto underside where it forms a tight spider line, large base chips, and an in-the-firing iron ping to front. Kentucky jug with a large base chip.
