Three Pieces of Southern Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware, 19th century, a one-gallon ovoid jug with grayish-green alkaline glaze and elaborate straight and wavy combed incising, possibly Thomas Owenby, Union District, SC or Catawba Valley, NC, second or early third quarter 19th century; a five-gallon brown-glazed jar with open handles and impressed "5", AL origin; and a half-gallon ovoid jug with tooled spout and light-greenish alkaline glaze over a pale-red clay ground. One-gallon jug missing handle with a few spout chips and light surface wear. Jar in excellent, essentially as-made condition. Smaller jug in excellent condition with a minor handle chip.
