Two-Gallon Stoneware "Ice Water" Cooler, attributed to the Wingender Pottery, Haddonfield, NJ, late 19th century, barrel-form cooler with coggled banding to shoulder and base, the bunghole in the form of a mustached man's face, the front incised with the words, "Ice Water", flanked by incised foliate motifs. Base impressed "2.". Cobalt highlights throughout. In-the-firing surface fissures to face-form bunghole. Three in-the-firing contact marks to left of the inscription, "Ice Water". A 2 1/4" in-the-firing contact mark to right side of cooler, which forms a deep chip. A minor 3/4" surface fissure to underside, not visible on interior. A minor chip to bottom edge.
