Two Pieces of Alabama Stoneware, fourth quarter 19th century, a two-gallon ovoid churn with beige-glazed body and reddish-brown-glazed top, stamped "2" at shoulder, Northern Alabama origin; tapered jar with handle, covered in a "frogskin" glaze composed of salt over Albany slip, with incised "2" beside handle, Randolph County, AL origin. Churn in very nice condition with small spots of wear to rim, light wear to inner rim for lid, and a minor chip to one handle. Jar in excellent condition with a small chip to interior of rim and minor chipping to exterior of rim.
