One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Clarkson Crolius, Sr., Manhattan, NY, circa 1800, ovoid jug with footed base and heavily-tooled spout, decorated with a brushed flower blossom including spots on the interior of the petals. This distinctive motif can be found on signed examples of Clarkson Crolius, Sr. stoneware. Heavy chipping to base. Various firing flaws to surface, including a recessed area to front, iron pings, and a small piece of adhered clay on right side of jug.
